Tractor yards/antique tractor shows in the Dakota's

I know Pete"s place in ND is a wrecker yard worth visiting but are there others in ND and SD or even Montana that are worth a visit. Any ideas on tractor shows would also be good, probably visiting sometime in July very early August.
Thanks
Bill

In SD there is Elson's Implement in Belle Fourche. Heres the web address, if he doesnt have anything neat its always fun to visit with him. www.elsonimplement.com its a salvage yard with some complete running units for sale. also its not far from deadwood, if you like gambling or history. The green mountain tractor pullers club pulls on the weekends around there also, lots of nice old work horses. caseman-d would know about the schedule if you can find him on here.the Black Hills Steam and Gas Threshing Bee is held the 3rd? weekend in august(someone will correct me if im wrong im sure) its about a half mile east of the airport. They have a facebook page.

there use to be a huge jd collection in montana owned by louis tavois(spelling?) but i that was all sold last july.

The museum in Hettinger, ND has an old Hart-Parr Oliver that farmed the land i am on when it was new, they also have a couple other tractors and other peices.

Hope you have fun on your trip.

There is a tractor salvage yard in Aberdeen, SD but I don't know the name there. And I think I remember one near Letcher, SD between Huron and Mitchell.

Probably best to go to www.adeptr.com/ agyards
which lists yards all over the country.

last time I was at Lether a few years ago they didn't have much left. A guy went to meyers once looking for straw walkers for his combine but didn't like pauls price and made the mistake of saying he could buy them for less at so and so's yard, meyers called the other yard, bought every one they had and smashed them with the payloader, so the story goes. He had no choice but to pay their price! As for shows check out www.prairie village.org

NOT a boneyard, but Hawk's is worth a visit!

Let me know when you' passing by and I'll buy you lunch!

Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion is Labor Day weekend in Rollag, MN. I live about 20 miles north of there.

In northwest ND there is the Crosby antique tractor/engine show July 15,16,17. The Makoti threshing show is later in October. Google them, for more info. As a bonus you will see the most active oilfield area in the USA.

Bill, Bill, Bill,...Bill, Bill.............

Tractors are great, but how could you travel so far and to prolly the prettiest part of the country (except Southern OH and most of WV) and waste time on a tractor

Just kidding. Enjoy your trip. Still figuring out the best way to get the wife to your land.
