21* hear, haven't looked out the winder yet, have to go hook up water sys. for amish to day gas powered jet pump in a 270' well, I have $2000.oo in pump,80 gal tank and all them shineing brass parts and pieses, and they got the gas engine.twice what we pay for surm. sys.

What are they doing with a gas power well pump? I thought they were against powered anything. I suppose the stationary engine is OK. They moved a barn near here and it was OK to use power saws and drills as long as they didn't actually own the powered tool. Are they fooling themselves? Any Amish out there with computers that can explain this?

they most all use gas power jet pump with 60 psi shut down switchs, now they are starting to put longer starting ropes on them, run them up the floor so the don,t have to go down to the basement to start them. they all know how to use a cell phone too know more bout them than I do.

Battery,gasoline, diesel, kerosene or LP powered equipment an steel wheels are usually fine.
Amish kids play video games here as they yak on cell phones. As they freeze on open buggies in blizzards.
Compressed air powered well pumps are the norm.

Yeah we have some round here with compressed air lift pumps, also lp hot water heaters in theire house we call them the new dutch, flock of them moved here few years ago. most came from ohio. some shewd ones in that bunch. geting so I don,t care for them, had one put me on hold one nite on his phone, mostly they just waste our time

They're not much different than the rest of us--some good, some not so good. I've sold a lot of hay and straw to them over the years. Most are sharp dealers, but I never got a bad check. It is getting so they seem to find ways around some of their own rules more and more.
