I just got an email today suposedly from ebay about a class action suit over fees and I may get a refund. Anyone else get one or know if it is legit ?

Did not get one and don't know nothing.
this might tell you something.

Yes I got it also . I don't remember that far back , but I'm happy to see Ebay getting nailed for one injustus . They get away with too much along with their counterpart paypal . Paypal scammed my banking big time . Then because I threatened with my lawyer name , they blocked my acct so I can't sell anymore . Checkout SCAMS over on youtube . God bless

I got a notice from Pay-Pal today that the account needed to be updated. Sounded funny so I just deleted it. It"s happened before.

I got the email about the lawsuit. I wondered about it being a scam, but since there are no links to click on to see if I qualify, and no where does it ask me to verify an account number of any kind, or to verify my identity, I will assume it is legitimate and I will just take a "wait and see" approach.

"I got a notice from Pay-Pal today"

Or, to be accurate, you got a notice from a SCAMMER posing as PayPal!

First off, it appears to apply to sales on ebay MOTORS, not the rest of ebay.

I can't say for sure the email isn't a scam, but did some sniffing around GOOGLE and it APPEARS there has been such a lawsuit.

The email is NOT asking you to do ANYTHING, if your correct address is on file with ebay. It states the refund will be made based on that addre and action is only required in the case of a change of address, or if you decide to opt out.

So, I guess for those of use who have not moved, either NOTHING will happen 'cause it's a scam or we will (at some point) get a few cents back though our ebay account! I'm not gonna lose a who lot of slwwp over it!

"E. HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR SETTLEMENT PAYMENT

Receiving your settlement payment is easy. The amount owed to you will be calculated based on eBay’s records and will be mailed to the address associated with the eBay user ID under which your covered sales were made. It is not necessary for you to do anything if your LEGAL NAME and ADDRESS on file with eBay associated with your eBay user ID from the Class Period are already correct."

I have always wondered about Paypal..... they hold your money in a account, accept deposits, make payments to others, now offer payment plans on purchases, with interest, offer commercial and private accounts etc etc...

Yet they are not a Bank and don't need to live up to all the federal restrictions and regulations a bank does?

E-bay says if you get an email and you don't know if it's legit, go into your My Ebay account and check in your messages. If it's not in there it's a scam.

I quit ebay because I did not like paypal having access to my bank, why with ID theft and cyber crime and all, if interested in something, rarely am, I ask what other payment vendor may accept before I bid.

Why don't you all open another account with just what it takes to keep it from charging you and if you buy from ebay take and put the money before you pay

If there is a class action I presume a Solicitors letter will arrive in the mail asking whether you want to participate. In my case there was no cost towards the action but the little thing struck me was there may{??} be costs in the disbursement should the action be successful.

I got it also. I don't think it is a scam, It said do nothing and if you are intitled to any thing they will get it to you. Or if you want to try to get more money out of the deal you can deny the suit and file for yourself later, so I think it is legit.

I got the same thing, it is eBay motors, I sold an old car for $500.00 and then the eBay fee was over $250.00 I just thought it was eBay ripping me off and I said I will never sell a car on there again.
