OT- arthritis again

I think last night was the worst ever with arthritis. Every joint and place hurting. Any suggestions for help? For me drugs like ibuprofen and such are a complete no no because I have bad kidneys. An aspirin at the most. No orange juice either because of potassium restriction on my heart.

Honey and cinnamon. I drink a cup of warm water with a spoon of honey each morning to wash down a couple cinnamon capsuls. I can tell the difference if I miss a day.

I know this is going to sound crazy but it as been proven to work. Find a bee keeper and take a bee r 2 or 3 and make them sting you close to the joint that is causing you a problem and the bee sting will lessen the pain. Old but a true no drug way of helping but me I can not do so unless I also want to g to the hospital

I use Naproxen Sodium I know that it is completely different from aspirin and Ibuprofen but don't know about effects on kidneys.

Yeah, I've heard that many times. I've had real-bad arthritis for many years. Last summer when cutting wood, I cut into a bee tree. Got stung over 20 times. Want to know how I felt afterwards? MUCH worse then usual. My wife was joking about it.

Moving around is what works for me. Sitting around kills me.

Ken, Glucosamine is supposed to work wonders, one pill a day. it also works on animals. We had a cat that could barely walk and I started putting Glucosamine in his food,he ended up walking pretty good, swelling went out of his joints and he had several good years after that. I have heard of Glucosamine being good for arthritis for many years and never had to try it for myself. I know how painfull it can be and I hope you find something that helps you.

They are saying now that glucosamine-chondroitin is worthless. But people swear by it. Try some Australian cream at Walgreens or hot pepper cream.. I am not a doctor ,but I play one on YT. Your mileage may vary.

Hi Ken -

I feel for you! I'm 47 & starting to get a lot more of that than I ever did before!

Have you been pretty active most of your life??

A friend of mine is in his mid 80's and gets out tinkering with repairing fence or whatever every day - and I saw him carrying a big old antique house jack with one hand to the pickup at a sale a while back...

I used to farm pretty hard - but now just have a desk job - so I don't get near the excercise I used to...

The point is - I haven't been able to figure out by watching friends/relatives if constant excercise/work is better - or if that just makes you wear out faster!

Osteo or rheumatoid? Rheumatoid is auto-immune and much more serious and requires serious and expensive treatments to forestall joint damage. Hope yours isnt rheumatoid. My wife requires chemo treatments for that twice a year.

Thank every one for the comments. I have heard of the bee sting..don't have any bees. I am taking osteo bi-flex that I heard about here on YT and while I can't prove it, I am convinced it helps. I will try the honey and cinnamon bit.
Warmer weather wouldn't hurt either.
Kenny

Thats what I do for joint pain. 2 tbl spoons raw honey and 1 tsp cinamon in a cup of hot water. I takes a week or so before you can tell it is starting to work

If you are suffering--and you are, I expect you will grasp at straws for relief.

I received this in an email some time ago but virtually ignored it. You might check with your doctor to see if cinnamon would be all right to ingest.
============
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

Haven't a clue about truth or not. Yours to consider. If you do try it will you please report back with results pro or con?

Well 2 things happened to you. #1 you got to many stings and #2 you got them in the wrong places. You need to get stung in the area that is the problem.
Now as for the real pain I find that cold weather and wet weather make me hurt more then hot and day weather does and also if I can stay off of concrete floors that helps also

Another odd one that is said to help but can not say it really works or not. Spray the joint that hurts with WD-40 and rub it in that is said to help with the pain also

KENNY, A friend of mine made a copper bracelet and wore it on his wrist.he said it helped very much.HE took heavy copper wire and hammered it together.Hope you find something that helps.GP

I've been taking 4000 mg of glucosamine a day for the last 13 years, has helped me a lot. It put off getting new kness for at least 5 years. For the last 8 I've been taking concentrated cherry juice, 2 tablespoons a day. I mix it with half a glass of Walmart diet twistup soda. Iget the juice from MI, Leelanaufruit.com. It got my arms/elbows good enough to reach my collar again.

My mother in law uses a white grape soaked in gin every day. She tole me about and I looked it up. There must be something to it, because there were lots of people swearing by it.
My knee started hurting real bad (crunch every step) so I decided to try Glucosamine. I have been using it for a month, and it helps a lot. It still hurts if I get stupid, but no pain or crunch if I am reasonable.
Good luck,
Tim in OR

I had an uncle who used to grab an electric fence wire for 15-20 seconds. (Must have been one of the older low power ones.) Said it gave several weeks of relief for his shoulders.
