Think it will grow wheat?

Acually, its rumored an unknown tractor company, one whos tractors are green, had a small hand in helping NASA develope these in the past. A major tire company helped in the design of the tires, but that info was being kept secret since the same company was developing a new tire forthe military to use when the Hummer is/was replaced. (Im a space nut BTW.)

The Hummer.Another example of the government and military wasting money with wacky specifications.
An off the shelf one ton pickup is plenty good and even better than the Hummer for 99% of the applications.
If they want to get fancy it's no problem to drop in polycarbonate windows and Kevlar on the floor, body panels, roof liner, door liners etc. Right on the assembly line.

Disagree with that, try takin a 1 ton to Afgan and goin down some of the roads and non-road areas up in the mountains, ask anyone who has been there what truck they would rather have when they are being shot at and have to relocate to a safe area. Ever seen some of the things a Hummer can do in the mountains/ rocky areas?? For street drivin I agree with you but not off-road type of stuff in Afgan areas.

we were lucky that thehighly versatile ,tuf JEEP was produced to help fight WW2 , simply , cheaply ,quickly in large volume ...good thing the hummer was not around 35 years earlier..

Respectfully, photos seem to show a lot of non-militarized Toyotas being used by the opposition
in Afghanistan and other contested areas.
