This just drives me nuts! If you have something for sale put the price with add! Why dont some people do this? I hate calling people just to ask price. Alot of the time I wont bother calling. I figure if you dont have price listed you must be embarrased becouse you want way to much anyway. What you think about this?

This is NOT walmart. When someone advertises, their job is basically done. The buyer has to make a honest effort to secure the deal. Shy buyers are the weak part of any deal. If you are not willing to make the effort, you are not a customer. However, if the asking price is your deal-breaker, then you haven't
dealt in good faith. Close the deal....

I'm with you, no price in that ad I skip it. 8 out of 10 times the deal is no good, and they havn't put a price so they can try and talk you into the deal.

"I know it has 100,000 miles more than the book on it, but I waxed it twice every year and it new brakes"

It is done to weed out the tire kickers i guess. It works I have NEVER ansered an ad that didn't have aprice quoted, that includes Fastline & Tractorhouse!

I gotta go with WB. Most of the time it means that the seller knows that they want more for an item than it is worth, so they do not list the price to prevent scaring away people that know what it is worth. It is typically a used car dealers tactic. Caveat Emptor.

So I go down many roads in town and find hard working girls. They don't have a price tag on them but many people stop to ask how much.

Funny, I was looking through the ads today and thought the same thing. Makes you wonder if they really want to sell it in the first place or if they are just trying to get someone to tell them how little it is really worth. If it don't have a price I don't click on it the second time.

If you don't like the ad don't answer it just move on to the next one the advertiser isn't required to cater to your individual Phycosis.
Anyway you never know I answered an ad for a nice large garden tractor with no price listed.Asked the fellow a few questions and he answered them then asked "Do you want it" i said well depends on the price he said "Come get it I'm giving it away" thought he was joking but he wasn't met a nice fellow and got a nice tractor free.

No price means no look and move on unless it is something I need. I usually find them wanting an offer. I say I"ll start at a dollar and work from there, but save us both a lot of time and tell me what will make you sell.

I always call. If it isn't selling for pennies on the dollar I just politely say thanks, that's too much and hang up.
I figure if enough people called just to get the price they'd wise up and put the price in next time.

Seems to be the norm back home in South Dakota....I think it has always been that way. It's like....I wanna talk to somebody, they will have to call and "talk" to me if I don't give the price. Either that, or they don't think the neighbors need to know the price, or, if you are interested you will call and I will do my best to sell it to you at MY inflated price...

Every time I've advertised an item for sale, I've posted the price. Sometimes it sells, sometimes it doesn't. As long as it's not livestock, it doesn't eat anything while it sits here. BUT I price my items in the ads to weed out the guys who are automatically gonna tell you it's too high, sight unseen, even if it's free.

And then I still get guys who make lowball offers. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I suppose...but if I wanted to take a lower price, I'd have posted a lower price.

And if I don't put a price in my ad, and then get a ton of calls from people who want something for free, that would be MY fault, not theirs.

No Price Not Interested----When I advertise an item, I put the price, age, color, mileage, and condition. I don't have time or do I like to talk.
Over the years, I get very few calls and the ones I get want directions. Usually the first person that looks, buys!

They are hoping a uninformed buyer is gonna offer them more than its worth. Cant get those guys if your price is in the ad.

I too will rarely reply to ads without price.

When I'm selling, I price 1 of 2 ways.. depending on what I'm selling.. I either ask what I think it's worth, or I put a price on that is a touch higher than what I'd take.. but probably still less than the actual worth..

I can always decide to drop my price later, but it's hard to raise it. Plus, say like right now, I have a final drive off a combine listed.. At the large salvage yards, they're right around $300.00 for what I have. A local, smaller yard is selling them for 100 to 200 bucks.. I listed them for 150.. I figure if you offer 100, I'll load em for ya.. Of course, to me, they're worth 15 cents a pound (which is right about scrap price)

No matter what I'm asking though, I list the price.. I can't be troubled by a thousand calls asking what I'm asking.. 100 calls asking will I drop $50 is one thing.. at least I know they're considering what I'm selling, and not just being nosy.. Of course, some people set prices depending on who's wanting to buy too.. lol..

They are typically hiding something. I also see vehicle ads where they say "call for price", or better yet, call to find out how many miles are on it.
Their intention is to try to get you very interested and then mention the high mileage like it is nothing.
Don't reply and they will eventually add the info to get some calls.

What cranks me is : I always put a price on what I'm selling,But they always want know "how much less will I take" I always say "Why don't you come look at it first" than we'll talk! They never show up...jim in N M
