Cordless grease gun opinions

Spent quite a bit of time around the Lincoln variety. 12 volt I think. They do a good job, but seems like ya always run out of battery before ya run out of zerks.

Ben

And the batteries don't last. Both of mine are only good for about 20 zerks now. New batteries aren't cheap...

Have a couple of Linclons 18 v that we have had since they came out. Been reall good. We grease a lot of excvator booms and it is just imposible to pull an air hose. This fal we add two Milwalke and they seem to have a little more preasure..For the house bought a $ 90.00 on sale from rural king and that is just what it is a cheapie. Pay the diffrence if you plan on daily service. I can say this in the shop they have really made things faster AND seems that odd hard to reach fitting seems to get greased more now.

First of the Lincolns.Still going strong.Sure makes greasing the combine almost a pleasure, especially those up high zerks.

Lincolns are a huge POS compared to the alemite grease guns, but alot more money for an alemite.
I would go with alemite.

I have had a Lincoln for about five years, and have been completely happy with it. I have noticed that where the battery used to pump 3 tubes it barely pumps one now. It has been fairly durable. I drove over it with my truck and it still works. All those rechargeable batteries are expensive. Yesterday I was looking for a placement for the one in my jump pack and it was going to be thirty dollars more than a whole new unit.

A couple of years ago the Lincoln 12 batt were in the $80 range and both of mine were dead, I took one apart and found the dead cell and soldered a good cell from the other batt, but I couldn't get the cell's back in the case,LOL Ended up taking all the cells out and soldering wires to the batt holder. Now I have about 20ft of wire and a jumper batt. Works good, but now I'm still dragging a cord.

i have a alemite at work never had any trouble with it other than batterys getting weak i went back to the manual pump guns but only for the exercise i get from it very good upper body work out when you grease 40/50 zerks a day but thats just me .

I have one I bought from mother Deere and it seems to be OK. The batteries don't last the way I think they should but that might be my fault.

Some of the guys have put away the battery gun and have gone back to hand pumping because they're afriad of over-greasing. I guess that's up to the general knoweldge and abilities of the individual.

I'm not trying to discourage you from buying a battery gun. It's just sooooooo easy to keep squeezing the trigger too long.

A couple of years ago while I was in Kansas on the wheat harvest I got out to the field at the crack of dawn to replace a bearing before the rest of the crew got there. Another harvester who was parked across the fence was out there early too so he could do his 100 hour service. His battery gun was in their service truck at the camp ground so he came over and asked me if he could borrow mine.

I let him take the gun and he went to servicing. He was close enough so I could hear the gun whining and on every zerk that gun must have pumped twenty times or more! He was getting it done alright! I wonder how many tubes he went through?

I read an article on proper bearing care and in this article one bearing manufacturer was quoted as saying they LIKE powered grease guns. They sell more bearings because of them. Jim

Used lincoln for years, battery"s were always a problem. Bought a Milwaukee a very good unit will do 5-7 tubes on one charge.

HAHAHAHAHA LOLROF I ave been using a cordless grease gun all my life. It has this handle on the side that you pump back and forth while you hold the round cartridge on the other. My batteries last as long as my arms hold out. And to recharge I just sit there for a minute and have a cup of jo and think about life for a minute. Hope there are a few that enjoy the perspective. No offense meant, LarryT

Have a lincoln at work, but I looked at the Milwaukee the other day and I think it would be better. More compact and lighter. Plus, it would give you an excuse to buy more cordless tools to match.

My Grease Gun is Cordless...it has a Handle and I fill it from a 5 Gal. Bulk Grease Bucket...

Why the heck do you need anything fancier than that..?

Ron..

Pump two or three tubes of grease through your gun on a D8 crawler or an end loader and you will be looking for one. I also have carpel tunnel bad in both wrists. I can"t use a regular pistol grip grease gun any more.

You can hear when the bearing or pin is "full" of grease. I have seen plenty of guys over grease with manual guns too. If it is a fitting you grease everyday then just a pump or two is plenty.

Yes, these now tools are fantastic...

We could never have dreamed such things would appear...!

A hat was as close as I ever got to a "Cab" or air-conditioning..!!

Well, I guess the Massey 410 did have a cab and blower..!
