I spend 3 winter months of 1981 in a house like that red brick house in the pics
It did cost me over a $1000 in heating fuel alone,just to keep 1/2 of the ground level we used from freezing our a$$ off .At that time i was making $1200 a month gross.
I moved on as fast as i could.

Hi Larry!

I visit the "Dutch Country" every summer. Wifes family is spread out up and down the east coast. Every summer we meet at a RV park (all have RV's) in the Lancaster area for a 4 day weekend sorta as a reunion. Always enjoy it, however this summer I brought 1 of my motorcycles and 2 afternoons sneaked out and rode some of the country roads,,,,, WOW had a blast, so pretty and so many very pretty farms.

Your pictures take me to those 2 days everytime I see them. Thanks for posting!

I like to take those pictures, because I have seen many of them fall down or get knocked down for developement

Your pictures are what it used to look like around here(Lancaster County) in PA. Not too many "old homesteads" around anymore. It either developed or metal sided 300+ cow barns...

Hey Larry nice pics. There is a house couple of miles from me that looks like that one. It is on Century Farm. Don't know how old it is but someday it will get knocked down by developers here also as the owners ar in their 70's.
