I was out plowing snow this morning with my IH 784 & it started slowly lacking power & continued to run for another couple minutes. As I was backing it into the barn it sputtered a couple of times & then died on me. Tried to start it back up & it will turn, but won"t start. Any idea"s what could be the problem or where to start?? Thanks

If it's not overheating I always go to fuel filters first. If gas, ignition issues (plowing snow can get water everywhere) would be second.
Good Luck,
Andy

Start with the fuel filter(s) and change them. Also observe the flow coming into the filter. If it's not a strong steady stream you may have an obstruction at the tank outlet... in which case you need to clean the obstruction. Probably by removing the tank drain...

How cold was the temperature? Maybe fuel gelled. Open drains on the bottom of fuel filters to see if you have flow of fuel. On those 84 series with the bosch pump, there is a tendency for the cable for fuel shut-off and advance to loosen near the pump (need a small screwdriver to adjust) and same as shut off the fuel.
