Ive got a '80 Scorpion 440 TK snowmobile with a cuyuna engine. The pistons have been burned through a couple of times and i have rebuilt. It hasnt been run hard at all maybe an hour at a time. Ive been told the carb is set wrong. It has a mikuni carb on it, i am currently in the middle of a rebuild and i was wondering if anyone knew the best settings for the carb. I had a website that showed exactly where everthing needed to be, but it doesnt allow me to view it now, because im not a member, and will not allow me to become one. So if anyone could help, let me know. Thanks

when ever I have a piston go its the pully side and bad crankshaft seals ar the culprid.I just took in my 600 jd for seals it would run good for 10 20 minutes then die have to wait till it cools before it will start again Finnally found a old JD mechanic that used to work on them when they were new.

Quite possibly the trouble is the main jet is corroded. Take the plug out of the bottom of the carb. Then a 5/16 socket to remove the main jet. If it is clean try a larger jet. Also you may be able to richen it up just by raising the metering needle by lowering the c-clip. If you are burning pistons it is definately lean.

My wife has a TKX 440 Scorpion. Electric start and hand warmers. Has not been used in years , but has been housed in a barn. Asking $300.00. If interested call 419-467-7229.
