To all Portland attendees who knew John Girard Sr. of Decatur, Indiana, I regret to announce his passing on Christmas morning.

John was the founder of the Girard Family Classic Threshing crew that
demonstrated old time harvesting and threshing at the Tri-State Tractor and
Engine show at Portland , indiana. This group has performed there for many years.

John and his family have been very good friends of mine for several
years. Through him and the threshing crew, I have gotten to meet many new
friends. He will be sadly missed at the upcoming shows.

Viewing will be Wednesday from 3:00 pm till 7:00 pm at Haggard and
Sefton funeral home, 225 Adams St. Decatur, Indiana.


I will attend the viewing tomorrow afternoon.

What a awful day to go for the rest of the family. Best wishes to the family though.

Portland is one of those shows I should go to; but have never been. I have gone as far as 400 miles to shows; & yet this one is my own state.

I lost a grandmother in her mid 90"s this year who was really, REALLY into Christmas. Made this one difficult for me.
