Willys update:

Been working on our Willys truck. I got the clutch working right, got the brakes working....now, I'm working on fuel...Truck is a mix of 49' 51' & 58'....originally, a 6V system, last owner converted some of it to 12V when the 58' Super Hurricane 6cyl was put in. When I got the truck, it had an electric fuel pump cut in & was opperated off 12V separate switch...Is this correct for the 58 motor? Or should my carb work off vacume? It runs GREAT if you gravity feed the carb, so, now it's just a matter of hooking it up right...anyone know how this goes?

i assume you know that center picture is the wiper motor...only thing the fuel pump does is provide vaccum for it.
FWIW if youre planning on making your Willys a street legal driver...figure out some way to hang an electric wiper motor on it...vaccum wipers aint worth ($#*$#& on hills or accelleration.

Your photos show both a mechanical fuel/vacuum pump and a vacuum wiper motor.

Why would you need an electrical fuel pump, etither OEM or otherwise?

Au contraire!

Vacuum wipers, with a properly functioning vacuum/fuel pump, as shown in the photos, will perform the same on hills as on level terrain in nearly all circumstances.

always wondered, on the old vacuum wipers has anybody tried taking one of those vacuum cannisters from a late '70's, early 80's lincoln, they look like a folgers coffee can, and putting that in the line to the wipers? if so did that help the low vacuum problem?

Your truck should have a manual fuel/vacuum pump. It pumps fuel in the top chamber, and vacuum for the wipers and such from the bottom. it may need rebuilt/replaced. The line off your carb may hook into that system or into the engine's vacuum system.

Dean is right that is a dual pump the vacuum part is to supplement the low vacuum from the engine when you open the throttle so that your wipers work continuously. same as my Cj3b. you can rebuild them or buy new for about $100.
