It's kinda sad that the parts are gone, but then considering it's performance it is surprising it wasn't completely stripped. I guess they couldn't find other uses for the remaining parts. Apparently it suffered many break downs in the short time it was in use.

That Mack was a pretty good sized truck for it's
time.

Bet those old trucks steered hard when loaded.
 
I drove through Death Valley during the afternoon in late July a few years ago and saw her sitting there in 117 degree heat. The old steamer was impressive to look at but I had never been in such a beautiful yet hot place in my life.
