I live abut 20 miles east of the Twin Cities and here it comes again. They said this is our 7th snow event already this season, which includes over 20 inches a week ago. I think we will surpass our average total for the year with this one.
This from the nationasl weather station:
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 am this morning to 6 am CST Tuesday.

* Timing... light snow will begin across portions of east central Minnesota by mid morning. Snowfall will begin to increase by
noon... and continue into the evening. The snow should taper off by early Tuesday morning. 6 to 8 inches expected.

I am runnig out of room to put it anywhere. I have 6 foot high piles along the driveway already.

You should watch the Vikings-Bears game tonight on Monday night football of you like snow. It should be interesting with the game outside at the U of MN stadium.

As a fellow Minnesotan, you have to appreciate the wonderful global warming we are experiencing! It is nice to have a good strong winter like this. At least the water will be up in the spring.

From 1980-1986, our co-op grain elevator sponsored trips to the Twin Cities to watch a football game. The first 2 years, 1980 and 1981, they were outside at the old stadium. The rest were at the dome. Personally I enjoyed the dome more. Alot more comfortable as a specator. I guess if the games that we went to would have been in September, it would have been okay to sit outside, but due to everybody's farm work, we had to go to the December games. I don't think I would ever plan to go to a Twins game now that they are outside. Just don't want to drive 500+ miles and then have a chance of a rainout.

Just a whisker away from the T- island casino....we"ve had our share of snow, but waskind of hard to tell exactly how much due to the drifting. I"d guess we still have a good 14 inches on the ground in the woods.

15 miles north of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, in the
mississippi valley..we got 18 inches last week,
on top of 7, now they predict 6 to 8, and that
big storm thats causing mudslides in "the land
of the fruits and the nuts" and 6 to 15 feet of snow in the mountains, is predicted to hit here
on Christmas Eve ! Wish I could go South, with
the birds, but have to stay here to feed the
critters !

You guys in central and southern MN have really been getting hit with the snow. In the North Central portion, a lot has missed us to the south. They're saying 4-7 for today, but I guess I'll believe it when I see it here. Last week when the metro got that 15-20", we got less than 1". I don't think we have more than 6" on the level. Oh well, all part of winter I guess.

i wouldnt complain to much. think of all the moisture we will have in the ground for crops this summer. this is nothing compared to what they used to get out here and i live 50 miles from twin cities. dad told me about 10-15 years ago this would have been a mild winter as far as snow fall. sure it makes more work but whatcha gonna do. get a snowmobile and youll have fun lol

I hate to be a bearer of such news BUT---it has been snowing here (Minot) all day and it's heading your way according to weather channel. Consider it a Xmas present, maybe. Len

Ok,,,, I have a solution. Pray to the snow Gods to send it our way. Here in New Mexico, we are about 43 inches behind on our mountain snow pack and about 8 inches down here in the valley. No snow pack and we get water refashioning and the native Americans and Texas get their allocation of Rio Grande water due to water agreements from the 1930's. Pray for us guys. Marry Christmas, LarryT

Ya'll guys can have that mess! We got about 2" this past Thursday and I had to go out on a service call in it to work on a truck. Down here in south eastern Va., VDOT does a fair job on it , but nobody knows how to behave while trying to drive in the mess! The worst part with the service call was going back to the shop to get a kit for an air dryer and they were shutting down to go home!! Had to contact the Pete dealership in Richmond and verify a part number and lo and behold, we had it in stock. Put the kit in, got the man's air pressure back up and I was a happy camper. Got back to the shop , clocked out and I'm on vacation until Dec. 29th! Ya'll have a good Christmas now!

Average seasonal snowfall in Metro is around 55 inches. Recent years, we"ve had mild winters. This is more like old-style normal ones. For those of us who grew up in MN, it"s normal. We"re also more capable of handling it.....skid loaders, blowers, etc,. Growing up, we didn"t even have a tractor loader at home! Used to leave the family car out by the highway, and hope it would start when we needed it. Alternative was to shovel out the driveway to get the car home.

Not sure what you clean snow with now but if your running out of room you should look into getting a blower, then there is always a place to put snow.
