Here we are looking north across the Ohio River directly towards Portsmouth, Ohio from South Shore, Kentucky!
Gramps had just visited Detroit Steel where he had a personal tour of the Foundry out at New Boston off of Gallia Street. I also believe where the shoe factory where Roy Roger's father worked!
If I recall correctly you are also looking at Chillicothe Street running north!
The bridge you see has now been replaced with a brand new bridge down stream.
Roy Rogers was born up at Duck Run, across the Scioto River, I understand rode his horse to school and was barefoot! I truly believe Roy was A GREAT INSPIRATION to the youth growing up in the fifties!
