The comercials on TV are just plain stupid and irritating. Xerox and FedEx are the worst. I know everyone can't be a Geico or Budweiser writer, but c'mon. And these guys went to school for this? What's your most hated?

Commercials??? What are commercials???

Been on YT here for a couple of hours and haven't heard a single one!

(In other words, shut off the &@(^%$ box if it annoys you!)

i dont like most of them, you can pretty much tell which ones were made by a inexperienced 20 something, and which ones were made by a experienced add writer probably paid 3 or 4 times what the kid gets, some of them dont even make sence to me let alone intice me to buy a product or service, since my tv shows that i can stand to watch nowdays are only 1 or 2 a week, and thats off of 200 plus channels, i record them, then i can skip the commercials all togeather

Dan Dan The Mattress Man! Some idiot from Flint Michigan that has a commercial on tv that he screams about his prices for about 1 minute straight. Wouldn't take a free mattress from that obnoxious fool.

That insurance commercial with the blue 1955 chevy and the slow band that plays that Groove'in on a sunday afternoon song i hate. They must run that 20 times a day.

Any of'em where they end without my knowing what they're selling, but whoever is writing the ads for Chevy trucks should be dragged out and shot. The ones with that condescending ex football player were bad enough, but these new ones with Allison and Duramax,or whoever those two clowns are supposed to be always have be grabbing for the remote and the previous channel button.

Well said Bob.
Why anyone would watch the idiot box and then complain about the programing or commercials is just beyond me.
Aint nobody holding a gun to their heads...

Larry,

I don't have a television, but I listen to radio when I'm in my truck. There's a jewelry store in Nashville called Genesis Diamonds. Their deal is that if they can't match any competitor's price on a diamond, they'll give you theirs for free.

Think about that for a minute. Suppose they have a diamond that sells for $10,000.00. A competitor offers the same quality diamond for $7,000.00.

"Nope, can't match that price of $7,000.00, so here's our $10,000.00 diamond for free."

Just how stupid would a person have to be to be sucked in by that ad?

About the only program I watch on the tv is Sanford and Son. When the commercial comes on I flip it to the Weather channel. Other than that I hate tv, radio, computers , snow and liberals. Makes me puke.

When ya got lemmons ya make lemonade..

record a few hours of those commercials, and mix them into a copy of your mother-in-laws favorite movie... would make a 'great' Christmas gift for her..

I have no problem with TV. If there's something on I don't want to watch--like pro football, f'rinstance--I either change the channel or ourn it off. I HAVE THAT POWER.

Commercials? Not too worried about 'em. Since I'm NOT paying for the signal--that's right, I have over-the-air rather than cable or satellite--I figure, somebody's got to pay the bills. Not too fond of commercials for drugs or feminine hygiene products, but again, somebody's gotta foot the bill. Mike Rowe on the Ford commercials has the most pleasant voice, IMHO...although the GEICO "pitchman" series of commercials are kinda entertaining, at least the first 100 or so times I see 'em. ("HEY! YOU WOODCHUCKS!!! QUIT CHUCKIN' MY WOOD!!!")

The most annoying ones, to me, are the local ones for the ambulance-chasing attorneys.

Don't watch much tv, 6 0'clock news maybe, but most commercials are sooo anoying I wouldn't take their product if they were giving it away!!

like the weather channel has no commercials "right'?.
B'sides the weather channel never has things right, the other day they forecasted," a trace of snow",accumulation 3/16".
By the time the snow stopped i had just shy of 2 feet.

Amazing how many people don't watch TV anymore. I found a pair of Rabbit Ears in the garage about 6 yrs ago. Thought I would watch the Nightly News. Lasted about a week. Turned out to be more commercials than news.
Only time I watch TV now is once a year when I go to visit my son in Wi. Discovery or the Hitler Channel. We still Have a TV, matter of fact just bought a new to me TV $10 It has a built in DVD player and we watch old movies from Netflix.

Thats where my DVR comes in handy, I find something to do for the first 15 minutes or so of an hour long show, then use that 15 minutes of "credit" to get me through the commercials.

The commercials I don't get are the ones you watch and afterward ask yourself "what the heck were they trying to sell?"
Some are interesting but sure not sellers!

I guess you got to be desperate like me!!
I watch TV some but I HATE those commercials too.
Especially those pharmaceutical companies that, push their crap, that they "warn/tell" it "may" cause "life threating/fatal"' reactions but take it anyway!? Are those pharmaceutical companies the ONLY companies making money lately??
Bob
God Bless

A good friend writes "add copy" for a major TV network. He's explained it in terms that are easy to understand. SOME adds are a work of genious. They stick in your mind for that reason. Most aren't in that league. They are so annoying and so stupid you can't get them out of your head. It's not neary as tough to create "stupid".

Mission accomplished.

There's an old quote attributed to PT Barnum. "There is no such thing as bad publicity"

The Mc Donalds "Where does breakfast come from?" comercial, It's so stupid, about makes me puke, I change the channel until it's over.

I find the Target commercials to be most outlandish... Sure doesn"t drag me into their doors. Ny new niece (by marrage) is one ot the executive secretaries at their headquarters. told her to slip it to the upper management to stuff their add agency.

There are several local commercials - a furnature company, and a car dealer where the guy SCREAMS at the viewer through the entire commercial. Terribly obnoxious. I will never darken their threshold.

Never buy anything from an excited salesman!

How many take them up on it.? All they are doing is cutting down on their profit. The other store won"t be selling them for cost.

Welllllllllllllll, Guess what friends & Neighbors. Were all paying for the commercials,as it is the cost being incorporated in the product sales. Neat huh? We can gripe about it ,but won"t do any good/Think about what a box of cerial would cost to buy if it came in a plain looking ctn, with no color, no information on nutritional values, No commercial bogus promises,no actors fees, no studio time, no musical numbers,Distributional cost, etc.Heck it would almost(YEP I SAID ALMOST) be FREE ,yeAAAAAAAA Right. Free? whats that?In order to market their cerial product(as with any products) Commercials is their way to make money. Like selling sand to the ARABS,it wont happen unless they can make a demand for the product. Years ago(during the dinosaur era) there was RADIO,where by word of mouth from neighbor to neighbor, family to family, made their sales for em. Radio was the locomotive drive for their product-services. Well we Jumped into the 20th century, and now become the scrape goat for their dumb commercial ads AND PRODUCTS that have a life expectancy of about 5 min after you buy it. Don"t like em? Turn off the t.v.other then doing that, your (like me) STUCK PALLY!!! Reguards (still disliking commercials) LOU.

the latest one is really off the wall with the lady looking for "stanley" makes you wonder, just what can a lady and a geco do , anyway lol

Yea radio ad for cars say the same here.

I don't get T.V. reception, but I was over at my neighbors and seen a commercial w/a little pig w/a pin wheel hanging out window screaming weeeee weeeee----I laugh ever time I think about it.

The TV just got turned on for the first time in 2 weeks. The kids just got home from college. Now the d**n thing will be rattling away for the next 4 weeks until school starts again!

Seems most TV ads must be written by 20 something women. When was the last time you saw a man in a good light in an ad? Men are made out to be fools in ads. Not good for role model image.

" FREEEEE CREDIT REPORT . COM" Idiots!!"

THEY aren't the IDIOTS! The morons who sign up thinking it's REALLY free ARE the idiots!

That was the premise for store brands or generic, no advertizing and cheap. Some of that stuff should have been free, some of the big companies left over trash. I bought a bag of store brand chips and it had plain and rippled cut chips in it. Looks like they swept up the floor.

Any Progressive or Family Guy cartoon. Also hate commercials that advertise the show you're watching. Family Guy thinks that it's going to get you to watch by playing the most annoying noise for an extended period.
Progressive ads says name your price or if you're a home owner, etc, we'll give you a cheaper price, obviously this isn't for their present customers, no longer a present customer.

Senator Boner says why are we messing with the industry that's 1/6 of our economy. My question is, why is health care 1/6 of our econmy.

They're idea of get it in your head doesn't work, 90% of the time I can tell you the annoying part but can't tell you the product.

Actually, FACTS prove it works just as successfully as most of what are considered as the "greatest TV adds of all time".

What's your most hated?

Any with rap music.

Because each 30 minutes of television programming now contains 7-8 minutes of commercials I rarely watch television. Instead I watch movies via Netflix streaming video, or watch the shortened television episodes on Hulu, Fancast, or ?? with limited commercials, i.e. often just two 15-30 seconds spots.

That guy on the ford comercials that you think has a pleasent voice has a voice that about drives me up the wall, that anoying.

....why do we even waste our valuable time answering tlak's ridiculous questions, as if they/he really mattered.

Vermont public TV news station and New Hampshire Public TV news station. No commercials for news hour. After news, shut it off. Works for me.

These are pretty good

John boehner could play the sniveling psycho.

I just like to tweak him, on those occasions, when he's out of the Va state jail, you know, between drunk driving charges!

The evening news on the local stations in central Ok.is of such crappy content , the comercals are a little better!. I do not waste my time with TV anymore . Get better news on here.
