site registry

After all the years of looking and enjoying this site I've never "registered". I'm retiring at the end of the year and will finally have more time to work on my tractors. I can't wait! I do though need to register. I'm not sure how to do that. If you donate to the site does that do it?

(quoted from post at 19:17:52 12/16/10) If you donate to the site does that do it?

No, that just makes your posts a little harder for the poof monster to see and maybe give you a warm fuzzy that makes you wanna be a hall monitor:roll:
just click on "modern View" at the top right. Then you'll see a little red box (top right) with a bunch of options in it. click on the "register" one and do what it tells you. Should be pretty painless.

(quoted from post at 19:39:16 12/16/10) So if I register does that mean I have to start over as a new user?

I don't think so. You are already registered and I believe if you tried again it would tell you that your name is already in use. Not sure though.

Dave

I don't understand how it works, but I know that it is not linked to whether or not you have donated. If I were you I would ask in the site comments forum.

all i did was set a password and my username was "registered"
if your name has registered next to it when you preview a post youre set.

(quoted from post at 20:19:27 12/16/10) I think the main idea is to keep people from pulling a stunt like this.

You've got too much time on your hands. Next thing you'll be hall monitoring and reporting to site comments.

I never "registered" But my name has been password protected forever so I was automatically registered when they upgraded the forum. I also took the precaution of protecting several other forms of my username after some joker tried to impersonate me.

(quoted from post at 08:17:01 12/17/10) I never "registered".

I'm curious to know if you never registered how Chris & Kim found out you live in Wellfleet NE??? Which BTW is shown under your name when viewing the Modern forum.

I registered here years ago on the "old" forum. I like to use the new view but cannot get it so I can reply in the new view. Anyone know? It won't take my password....James

(quoted from post at 10:01:12 12/17/10) Nothing is secret on the internet. But I may have
went and updated my profile. Does that make you
happy?

Nothing about this thread to make me happy or sad.

I just wondered "how your town got in your profile if you hadn't put it there"!!!!!!!

Does that make you happy?????????
