O/T trouble codes

How do you check the trouble codes on a 2007 Mustang without going somewhere like autozone and having it plugged into a code checker? I know with my chevy I just cross some wires under the dashboard and the code will flash. On my dodge you just turn the key like three times. How do you do it on fords?

Most of the newer vehicles, (and your Mustang is probably one of them,) do not have the "cross the wire, and watch them flash," option.

For $40 to $60 you can probably get a simple code reader that will read your codes. That"s what I have, and it has answered a lot of questions for me. At least, it answered the what"s the code and should I panic problem.
They won"t do all the things the big commercial multi thousand dollar units do, but you probably don"t need that anyway.
