Can only go so long without a problem. Almost too old to do this stuff anymore. Van with automatic trans. losing about a quart every two weeks. May have to park it unless someone knows some usual easy things that may be wrong. Thanks again for help always given on this site. Specially wondering about head gaskets and stuff more serious. Can't find nothing yellow leaking. Dave

is it actually losing more than a quart if you leave it alone for more than 2 weeks?
coolant level should run about 2-4" below filler neck to allow for expansion.

Can only go a few places. The air(steam), the ground(puddle or drips underneath), the oil(milky oil) or the exhaust(vapor out the tailpipe).

For BcNt, Thanks, Actually I am watching the plastic expansion tank or whatever it is. I could wait and see if it continues down, though.

ok...check radiator itself when engine is cold...those plastic bottles are good to keep car makers from people suing them for burns trying to open a hot rad...make sure rad is full up to 2-4" and check it in a couple days...again...cold engine.
post again when you find anything out.

Those also had that wonderful plastic intake that would seep anti-freeze into the intake. That may be what you have happening. Pull the plugs and see if they look like thy have been steam cleaned. Most times the manifold has to be replaced along with the gaskets. Not a fun one to do on a van.

Thanks all for information. My brain is getting stimulated, but body is not. We have 9 degrees right now. Might have to feed it till spring. Have a nice Christmas, all. Fortunately I have other vehicles, but this is kinda the favorite most of the time. Dave
