Now, I ask you what"s wrong with this picture?????

8 Point white tail buck????
bang

The picture is Bambi, not an 8 point buck.

Probably a "file photo" they use to illustrate stories, without too much attention to detail. They probably feel lucky that it wasn't a Jersey.

Nice story. My son shot a spike at about 300 yards, across a canyon, with a borrowed .243. Nobody could believe it- He was with my smart-a$$ cousin, who said "Nope, you didn't hit him. But came close enough to give him a heart attack. That's why he fell."

Each year my wife and I set up a deer cuting station in our 1900 barn. We generaly skin, cut and pack 40 or 50 of the garden rats. Last week a 83 year young man came in with a 10 point buck. He asked me to get it out of the truck as he just had hernia surgery. I asked how he draged it out of the woods and he said "There are a lot of nice young men out hunting here in Pa. They "drug" it out for me". I"ll bet he votes every time there is a election. Hats of to elder hunters. Ed

We hunt open fields here on my farm 200 to 300 yard shots are not uncommon. What doe we shoot? .243 Win, .240 Weatherby.... And Yeah, I got a couple this year at beyond 200 yards.

Sure didn't look like a whitetail to me. Definitely a file shot. Bet if you google, you can find that picture somewhere on line. Someone who didn't know the difference......

Not a whitail and not a buck. The white strip under the dots suggests to me she is a Barasingha, a deer in India and Nepal. Does anyone remember the movie "The Deer Hunter" ? Robert De Niro was was chasing a bull elk. I didn't even know Pennsylvania had elk. Congradulations to this 86 year old. Hunting and eating deer may have kept him going so long.
