Having a hard time finding a crank or engine I am wondering what engine could repower this machine? Where can I find a used one?

Have you priced out a new crank? It seems like you've only been looking for a few days. It could be a lot of work to repower a skid steer. A Kubota V-2203 4 cylinder might be an easier swap. They were used in the T203 Thomas machines but are less HP. If the rest of your machine is in good shape, it might be best and cheapest to just fix the engine you have. What happened to crank anyway? Dave

Hi Dave,an air head operator ran machine all nite listening to music couldnt hear connecting rod bearing going out on crank, ate 50 % of journal.Havent pulled crank yet but will see about welding it up,I did one on a 3 cylinder yanmar engine and its running fine.I have 3 Thomas loaders for snow removal.Repower would mean I need turbo to get closer to 62.5 hp in the 6 cyl. engine.I push 8 foot snow buckets so need similar H.P.The V-2203 4 cyl. was used in the 183HD models also,my 245HDK has a V3300-T turbo 87HP @ 2600 rpm ,these machines are 8000 lbs. I am welder /fabricator so I can refit anything in there ,no big deal, might be tight but I have full shop here.

Sounds like an oil related problem caused the damage. Any engine around the same HP should work but to find one in good shape might cost as much as fixing yours. An Isuzu or Cummins 3.9 like in an 1845 might work. I think 1845C's are 60 HP. I still think there should be some 233HD's in salvage yards. They were pretty popular here and the 6 cylinder had lots of torque. Maybe a wanted ad would turn up one? Dave
