Did I Hear Correctly?

While decorating the Christmas tree overnight. I was listening to the radio, & could have swore I heard a news story that I thought surely couldnt happen!

3 teenagers in I think it was Kansas; Arrested for stealing cattle. Told police they were planning of starting there own cattle farm.

If I missed something, or heard this wrong would someone please let me know. I didnt quite catch the beginning of this story. Had both hands full of lights, & was preoccupied.

It was in Minn., they were stealing baby dairy calves to start their own dairy someday, calves were returned to their owners in good health.

Makes sense, cattle are high, money is low, marry them or steal them. I'm just trying to think like a dumb thief. I guess they could run the herd in the county park!

Not far from here some kids were arrested for stealing a semi. They got caught when they stopped about 70 miles away to put fuel in. Said they wanted to get their CDL and were trying to get some more experience.

we had a young kid here , started about 13 stold a backhoe and dug a hole in the neighbors yard, then stole a combine and left it in the middle of a state route, attempted to steal a locomotive but was caught, then him and buddy stole a semi tractor and held up a conveince store,...got some jail time finally,.. all true

Like Mike said- in MN. One 19, one 16 years old. Would sell the steers and raise the heifers. Google St. Cloud Times or Sunday MPLS Strib.

You hear occasionally about old laws that don't really apply anymore, but never got taken off the books. Hearing this story makes me wonder if "cattle rustling" is still a hang-able offense.

Had an uncle who went through hell in wwII. Did not want his son to go through same in Viet-nam so when he was draft age uncle arranged for him to steel some calves and get caught. It worked. Time the lawyers got him out of jail on probation the war was over. I'm not saying that was right or wrong and not trying to start a patriotic argument. So please everyone just continue with the original intent of the post.

Best one I've heard,a couple of teenage girls stole the school bus and hid it out a couple of miles away. Thought if they didn't have a bus to ride they wouldn't have to go to school. Someone turned them in and they got suspended. One of them finally ended up in prision on other charges

Many years ago when seeking out young ladies with compromised morals, I found three fat teenage girls who had no morals to compromise. They were out cruising by night in their old Rambler station wagon when they saw a shoat about 100 pounds wandering along the road. One said."I want that D---- hog!" Two got out of the car and wrestled the hog down and put it in the back of the station wagon. Took it to town and got a couple of their male friends to butcher it and roast it. I wonder what those girls have done since 1963,

One of my neighbors foster kids decided to steal a Budweiser truck. He had made quite a dent in it when the found him up in that holler.

He was a really good guy. I have heard that he is doing well after getting that all cleared up.

These boys obviously were not raised on a dairy farm. They would realize there ia a lot of work involved, 7 days a week, and not a lot in return.

i had that happen to me lol when i had a wrecker service i had towed a beer truck in that had torn its driveline out, it was nearly full, so i put it in the local car dealers mechanics bay for safe keeping until monday, when monday came i showed up to pull it out of the way, meantime one of the ace mechanics had managed to jimmy the roll up door on one of the bays on the side of the truck and stole all the beer in that bay, the dealership owner was very mad when the beer company made him pay for all that beer

I dont know where they were, but in the west there are places they could probably put them in a pasture somewhere and get away with it.

Stupid kid here "rustled" a steer in place- shot it and butchered it in a field. Trouble was, everybody knew his pickup, and while no one saw him in the act, several saw his pickup parked by the road at the relevant time.

Strange part was, his dad was about the biggest farmer in the county- lots of cattle and crops. The old man said, "If he'd done that with one of mine, the result (year in jail) would have been the same."

Haha. A year ago they could have just hung around the sales barn and took home baby bull calves for free (or at least very close to free).

speaking of gals with compromised morals,, down in the dixie area in these parts , some 30 years ago ,, 3 gals come up missing for nearly a week about prom time ...turns out they were camping in and along the Indian Creek paradise with 4 good ol country boys .. It seems as the gals told the sheriff .started out doing Bible Study and couldnt get past the Story of Adam and EVE ...
