My wife is making Butterhorn rolls for Thansgiving, pies are next. Wish I could bottle the smell in the house and sell it, I'd be a millionare. Chris

Thanksgiving isn't a German thing but household 6 takes the day off every year and cooks a big meal and we get a few to help us eat it. Looks like tomorrow will be a couple fresh widow ladies and the stepdaughter (she smells turkey and pancakes so we can expect her to show up Christmas, Thanksgiving, and most Sundays  .

Looks good.

Daughter was living in Germany at Thanksgiving time a few years ago, and was determined to have Thanksgiving. Ended up with about 12 people, of many nationalities- most were at least bilingual, so lots of translating going on so everyone could understand. She did a turkey, and arranged with the others to bring a dish they liked. Most had no idea of the concept of Thanksgiving at the beginning, but by the time it was done, were convinced that they should do something like that in their country as well. A great time had by all- perhaps assisted by nearly everyone bringing a bottle of wine.
