Antifreeze in alternator.

My radiator blew antifreeze into my alternator.How do i clean this without causeing more problems.It charges slow now. Is wipeing the insides all i can do?

Blow some air through it. Carefully.

Disconnect the battery and rinse it with a hose and warm water. Then blow it dry with air (modest pressure) and follow that with a blow dryer. No issue with the water, they get wet in puddles. Jim

Make sure to wash the fan belt and pully's also. Slow charging could be a slipping belt.

Rinsing it is the most important thing. Got to get the anitfreeze off the slip rings.

Use some electric contact cleaner, available about anywhere. Spray the heck out of it.

Don't use carb cleaner or brake cleaner, pretty similar, but not the same, and flammable. electric contact cleaner is not flammable

I wouldn't just spray it with water, but that is just me....
