I have an Allis Chlamers d14 and CA, both are not generating electricity. Can anyone help me out, where do I start? When its running, I put volt meter on generator and there is nothing. Thanks

Original generators right? First two simplest things I'd do is,take a piece of fine sandpaper (not emory cloth) and wrap it around the end of a screwdriver. Hold it against the armature while it's running. Chances are,it's pretty black. It should polish up to a bright copper color. If it's working, you should see tiny little sparks coming off the brushes while it's running. Second thing, and even simpler, tap on the voltage regulator with a screwdriver handle.
I've got an Oliver 77 that has to have the sandpaper trick done to it from time to time and a 66 that needs the regulator whacked now and then.
