current scrap steel price

I have about 5-7 tons of scrap steel that I would like to get rid of next week. Has anyone hauled in any scrap recently? What were they paying? thanks, Jack
 
I checked Thursday [Northeast Georgia] they said $11.00 per hundred for scrap iron.This place usually pays 50 cents to $1.00 more per hundred for WHOLE cars.
 
Yes,I made over $1800 last week from 2 old blowers,a mixer wagon,2 corn shellers and the carcas of an old flail chopper. $200 a ton for that sort of thing. Cars are $205 a ton,short steel is $245. That's in mid Michigan.
 
Things like old hay baylers, old trailers,old farm junk is $ 180.00 to 200 a ton and you can leave the tires on the items here in Middle Tennessee. Number one like clean cut dozer tracks or shor iron with no dirt is $ 240.00 a ton this week. Definately on the rise

Good news for folks that own scrap to sell. The bad news is those prices coupled with record unemployment and open borders has some folks stealing everything metal that is not tied down. Somebody stole some large amount of copper not long ago. That sounds bad enough but the copper was in use at the time with 50,000 volts flowing through it. They knew how to cut the power and which end to snip the copper from.
