Electrical rates in your area.

Just looked at the current electrical bill. Even though the meter is a "smart meter" and has shown an electrical bill on the utility's site since July. I'm still billed "flat rate"???
Ignoring the "posted" rate of 5.9 cents and just calculating KW/hrs used and the total cost on the invoice.
15.9 cents per KW hr.

Here in Central New York, electricity is billed as .127 (almost 13 cents) per KWH, but the actual charge is 18 cents when you simply divide the bill by KWH used.

I know NY is high, but I'm surprised you are paying that much in Canada. I'm always hearing about all the cheap "hydro" you guys have.

Total bill, taxes, fees and other BS my rate is 11.3 cents per KWH. I havent looked at the bill in a year or so, my wife pays it online.
My bill is about $100 per month. (average.)

I've got a 1800 square foot house in ohio.My bill runs around 350 per month.

The electric co-op at our vacation place has quite a racket, at least as far as we're concerned. We pay an "availability fee" which we pay whether we use any electricity at all, then we pay again for the electricity we use. Since we don't use much electricity (we have a mercury vapor light that is all that's on when we're away) we probably pay close to a buck per kWh some months.

11.37 is mine in Southern KY, that's with about a 3/4 cent "fuel cost adjustment" from TVA who my CO-OP buys power from, which is funny, since I am also a Unit Operator of the very TVA plant they're buying it from!!! They get me on both ends! haha... Funny thing is, around here, the TVA uneducated think us employees get our power for free! That would be nice, considering my average bill with the house, shop and bins runs about 200 even, much worse in sep/oct. (grain dryer) and the heat of august usually.

When my relatives etc start yipping about the price of power. I show them my plastic lunch pail.
Just telling them I bring home a free bucket of electricity every day drives them wild.

jeze, Showcrop,

Were about forty miles apart and I paid 17.4/kWh cents on my last bill of $57.00. Maybe I should like paying sales tax in MA.

.12-.25 euro ($1=.72 euro) depending on the service you use here. Can keep in the lower half usually just by calling and threatening to cancel/switch providers.
