Pics of mixing silage

Here are some pics of me mixing some silage for the dairy cows this arvo. The mix consistes of ground corn and barley grain, Conola meal, corn, forage sorghum and lablab silage usualy with a load of green choped oats at the moment but it was a bit wet to chop today so they got a round bale of oats instead. We use the old fordson and new holandchoper to chop the oats then dump it infront of the silage face and pick it up with the loader. I do one mix a day and that does morning and night feeding for them and sum happy cows that siting around waiting to come to the dairy. Hope to get planting corn and forage sorghum this coming week so may get sum more pics then.

My farm is a couple of hundred miles south west of Torbanlea.

After years of drought it is raining every couple of days in the wettest, coolest spring I can remember.

We are trying to harvest our wheat and barley crops. The rain is great for our sorghum and mung beans.
 
Yes im from Australia we have 1000ac. 600ac which we crop & another 400ac of grass country we run steers on. The fordson is a 2nd owner tractor that we have had for 25 years now it came with the farm next door when we bourght it and is all origanal
 
nice pictures ... sure is good to see what is going on in other parts of the world ...

here in USA it is going into winter { northern part anyway } ... hope this winter will be better than last year ...

Keep posting pictures as yu go into spring ... in joy seeing pictures ...
