Kia Sportage??

Anyone have or had one? I have a 97 and am wondering if the tank filler tube and several lines that are exposed in the passenger rear fender well are supposed to have a cover over them. They sure collect mud and ice (in winter).

Thanks, Dave

I've got two. A 98 and a 99, both Sportage EX 4WD four doors. Mazda-clone-engines and Gertrag transmissions. All those pipes are fully exposed in the passenger-side wheel well with no covers. Considering one has 140K miles and the other 210K miles, and they've both spent their lives on salty New York winter roads - I'd say those pipes hold up well. I've had to replace two filler pipes on our Subarus with less miles on them.

I DID have to replace all the brake lines on both Kias, but that's a different issue.

I'd love to get a Kia Sportage 4WD diesel, but I live in the wrong country.

wife has a sorento with 2.5 diesel and averages 25mpg. I average 17 or so...... You forget the horse trailer is behind the sorento and forget there is a vehicle in frt of the trailor with my sporty
