Radial duals?

Will radial duals work with bias ply main tires?
I am talking about 18.4 X 38s and regular farm/field work.
Thanks, Brian(MN)

I would imagine they would. I do it the other way. I run bias duals against radial tires.

Better i think to run the dual tires as radials and the insides as bias, especially if you take the duals off for any reason, we do the opposite on our one tractor, radial tires, with clamp on bias duals, but when operating the tractor with the correct air pressure in the radial tires (about 7 psi) the duals take all the weight. One day i"ll have to find another pair of radials to get them matched up...

I got a bias 18/4 X 38 by mistake on a 7110 Case IH It was new and they put it on the inside, all other tires were radials Firestones. In about 4 or 5 years the bias tire was about 1/2 worn out. didn't notice till took the dual off and just happened to look at the tire. This tractor was used for road work 100% of its life.

We do it with our Oliver 1855. Exact same size & everything. We don't put too many hours on it with the duals on, but it hasn't hurt yet. Was the other waqy around, but then we got new tires put on & put the 75% worn radials on the duals in place of bald bias ply tires. Yes the radials are a little taller, but they also squat more with a load on them.
