Insurance against snow

Got my snow fighters ready to go today, The one on the left is a 1978 twin engine Power King. I say twin engine because there is an 12 horse engine mounted on the rear which runs the snow blower that I bought new at an auction for $75'
The one on the right is a 1959 Power king with a blade made for a 4 wheeler that I go at an auction for $10 Last year I mounted the snow blower, and used it once, and a MF 35 with a plow twice. I hope these pictures aren't to big I hate it when I have to scroll back and forth to see pictures. These pics were added with the YT photo upload. Before somebody asks, that wheel in the right of the picture is on a 1929 Essex that I hope to finish this winter

I have a Case 446 that looks a lot like the tractor with the snow thrower on it. Repowering it with a 20hp Onan was the best thing I ever did for it. Just need to get some chains and weights on the rear to make it a real snow beast.

That wheel looks like an old Chevy, but they were known to have supplied parts, via Johnny Cash, and his brother in law, one piece at a time to Essex...

I am working on my newest addition to my snow movers right now. My IH1066 has a cab, but tired of roading it in the cold and dark where it needs to be.

It is a 1991 Dodge 150 4x4, short box with 8 ft Meyer low. Bought it for $1000 knowing it needs some work, as follows: Water pump, 3 of the brake lines (I won't tolerate wet/seeping lines), one parking light is out.

Otherwise everything else is ready to move snow. Someday I will fix the speedometer, it and the radio are dead.

Bodywise, it is bubbled above the rear tires and just coming through. Only other rusted out spot is in the drivers door. I really don't care what it looks like this winter, plan to scuff it down this spring, grind the rust out, pop rivet in new metal where needed, and paint it white on the lower body panels. Am going to leave the rest of it alone. DOUG

Yep Dave, you can never be to ready here in NY. Heres my main plow rig. I also have a snowblower, and a ATV with a plow on it. If something breaks, or we get alot of snow I have backup. LOL, J, ;)

I'm in Maine, hope this pic comes through, bought my newest insurance this summer...1976 Scout ...paid $500, it was on CL 2 towns over.. It's got 24K miles on it, 345 motor & drives GREAT.

Yep, mine are almost black from the mud! 2 things I hate, clay/mud, and high humidity! LOL j

I put all the tools away, and swept the floor before I took the pictures. Under the tarp is a 1929 Essex that is one of my winter projects this year. I decided I would be dead before I ever got it restore so I'm just going to "preserve it" an drive it next summer. Next owner can restore it.

Mine would be a whole lot sweeter if I'd clean it up. Took a critical look around the other day and concluded "This is ridiculous"! Next rainy weekend day, I'm gonna get a nice fire going in the stove, put on some Merle, and spend the day "organizing".
