The topic of keeping extra parts for furnaces? I thought it good advice and was going to pick up a couple thermocouples to say the truth I forgot about it. I went to bed 3 hours ago and wife got me up to see why furnace wouldn't come on and there it is top of heating probe burnt off at least 3 hours to go before anything local is open Not a happy camper. guess I'll have a cup of coffee.

Never happens on a nice day when your in the mood to work on somthing . You could have every replacment part but one and thats the one that will go out . I got truck loads of hardware ,plumbing, elec.,etc and still end up going to town . Even if a guy got what ya need ya cant find it till the next day after you made the repair !

I started my burner with a propane torch once when it got too cool during the night. I switched the furnace off for a bit, turned it back on and held the torch where the electronic igniter was, and it took right off - just to heat the house up the one time, though.
