what is the best way to get to points to gap on early Ford 8n with distributor in front of engine. It is hard to see & not enough room to do it. How do other people do it. Thanks for any info.

Take the distributor off and set the point gap and timing "on the bench".

Then reinstall the distributor, making sure to correctly engage the offset drive tab.
How to

The front mount dist was designed to be removed to service the points. Noe which way the rotar is facing before you remove it. It will only go back on that way. DO NOT FORCE when replacing. You cannot get it out of time.

Yep as Bob say easy 2 bolts off and unless forced it will only fit on one way., If you force it back on 180 out of time you buy a new distributor
