PTO Hydraulic PUMP

I had to take a Crown Hydraulic Pump apart to remove some iron chucks that fell into the pump after I removed the broken reducer on the output side.

How hard should the pto shaft turn?

I can't turn the pto shaft by hand unless I use a channel locks.

That's probably about right. Roll it with your channel locks, back and forth, stopping, reversing direction, and changing the angle of the pump, to see if anything is catching in the pump. Use light oil to lube while you are doing this. Should be OK.

It should not turn freely. Did you prelube the pump? Remember you have resistance from both the pump drive and the pump itself.
