Well I recently realized how dry it has become in Middle Tennessee. We have a guy of lives around here who rides horses occasionaly. His name is Billy Joe, he doesnt ride much, as he is a neverous type of person (doesnt take much to get him tore up). Well I was cruising along yesterday, and I meet Bily Joe pulling his horse trailer. I notice as he approaches that he has some smoke following him. After he passes me a tire on the trailer fininshes blowing out. Well poor ol Bily Joe just keeps truckin. Well I assume he makes it on home with it. About half hour later I decide to go back into town. I soon ran up on the fire deptarment in a curve (where I had met Billy Joe). They were putting out a grass fire. Poor Billy Joe had set the grass on fire in about 4 diff spots before he finally pulled over. But not because he had set the grass on fire, but because he caught the trailer on fire and had to get the horse out and call the fire dept to put out the trailer. You hve to know Billy Joe to really get a kick out if it. I thought it was pretty funny

I am 67 years young ,live in extreme northwest middle Tennessee and have never seen it this dry in my life. They are calling for rain Sunday night. Sure will be welcome.

jm.

I live in southern Middle Tennessee. It is outrageously dry here. We haven't had any significant rain since the flood last May.

Driving in the country, you will constantly see burned out ditches where people apparently threw cigarettes out of their cars and caught the grass on fire.

I've been feeding hay to my cows for a month. I normally start feeding hay to them around the middle of December.

My springs have all dried up and I've been watering my cows using city water since last July.

This is a real catastrophe.

Remember when Nashville got flooded out earlier this summer? It"s all relative!

Speaking of relative, my brother-in-law lives in Nashville. Road to his (hilly) subdivision was washed out in the flood. Finally - last week got permission from the city to begin trying to rebuild roads. Think they finally got city water back a couple weeks ago. Been a tough go for him and his neighbors since the flood.

yea ive got all my ha in so Im ready for some rain. We sure need it. Its clouding up as we speak. Supposed to get a couple inches. I hope it comes slow though, if not it will all run off and cause another flood. We've already had 2 bad floods this year. Caused lots of damage. We we're lucky, We are not in a flood plain but it did get out fence that crossed the creek in the bottom, several lost homes and lives.
