JD 2030 Fan belt replacement

Anyone changed the fan belt on a JD 2030 or similar? I was hoping it would be a simple task but it appears the connection to the hydro pump and fan are going to cause some issues. There is some kind of expansion joint on the hydro connection but even with that bracket off, there is not enough room to get the new belt through there. Any suggestions?

If you have already removed the half-clamps (6), you simply need to turn the pump half of the coupling (1) (pump shaft) about a forth of a turn so the "doughnuts" (5) are no longer in line and there'll be plenty of room to slip the belt through.

Bob, great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea about getting the belt around the fan blades. I might be able to squeeze it through but I don't want to damage the new belt.

I checked the OM before posting. It talks about setting the tension but nothing about replacing it. If your OM has it could you send me the part number?

TM4363 for a 1640,1840 & 2040.

The fan belt you can work throught the fan by sliding the belt in between the blades at the bottom. Just turn the fan and do one blade at a time.
Also while you have the pump coupling apart you should replace the nylon bushings that the clamps smash together. They only cost a few dollars each. Just sharped a chesil and split them long ways. Then slde them off. The new ones will fit over the studs easily.

I beg to differ the correct TM of a JD 2030 if for N.American sales is TM1051 and for European sales is TM4319

Operators manuals usually have a statement for "repairs see your JD dealer"
