I havent started corn yet, kind of a bottle neck where it has to be delivered to. Wondering what you guys are seeing for yeilds/moisture. I took some cobs from feilds and had 12.9 on the 92 days stuff, and up to 14.9 on the 95 day. Is this safe loisture to put in my non aereated bin(2000 bu)/? I heard one farmer by gilman MN avereraged 262 bu acre on one field. I am hoping for 150 or better, 26,400 planted population, most ears are pretty long. Hoping to start next week if the weather cooperates and the trucking is available to keep up. Only 58 acres.

That should be safe in a small bin that cools down for winter storage.

Should be 14.5 or less and should store ok. is the 'rule'.

16 or so will store in our cold climate in a small bin over winter; tho it's not 'perfect' and you should keep watching it & move it before it warms up in summer and you should put it in the bin cold.

Always a tad bit of risk with storage, even if you are right on the numbers.

East Central Iowa looks poor on yield, great on moisture. We are running in the 160-180 bushels with 12-14 %.

Hand samples are always drier than machine harvested. With no dryer, why would you have no aeration system? In 38 years, a county west of you, I"ve put only a small fraction of bushels directly in the bin...one year! If you are feeding enough out of it over winter, you can get by with 16 percent until spring....I know of no one who ever got 150 bpa on that population...here, well over 30,000, even with flex hybrids.
