1971 MF 165 gas

I'm at a loss. I need either the wiring schematics or a complete wiring harness. I can't find either anywhere. Someone, who shall remain nameless (not me) put a battery charger on the machine and it caught fire, burnt every stinking wire to the copper. Any ideas? I can go through and replace each one, one at a time, but I'd like to take the easy way out if possible in the interest of time. I work full time and I'm just doing this to help my neighbor lady out. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Best bet would be to get a harness off a tractor at a tractor salvage yard. It may be a little difficult to come bye, but I think it would be easier than trying to find a wiring schematic for something that old.

Wiring diagram is in the service manual. MUCH easier to find diagram than an actual wiring harness (in good condition) BTDT.

Thank you fellas, I found a portion of the harness available to purchase, it's basically all the wiring for the gauges. I can rewire the rest going to the alternator and other misc. items easily. Thanks again.

If you can't find the info you need, post back here. I SHOULD have a wiring diagram for that tractor. (I had a set of wiring schematics for all the 100 series tractors)

IIRC, the wiring diagram is also in the I&T manual for the 165, even though I don't care much for I&T manuals.

I finally figured out how to use the correct imageshack code for uploading pics. The paper I have is seriously lacking in detail and specificity. I would like to take you up on your offer MF Poor if it's no trouble and acquire the necessary images for my dilemma if possible. The parts I ordered from here and the section of harness won't be in for a few days, so definitely no big hurry. Thanks for assistance so far.

P.S. How do I know which gas engine is in the machine. I am under the impression that Perkins was the diesel and Continental was the gas. Is this correct? If not, what numbers do I need off of the block or head and where can I cross-reference it?

MF 165 Wiring Diagram Not detailed enough for rewiring

No way to send a PM huh? Anyway, MF Poor, if you read this I'd like to possibly acquire the schematics you said you might have. Thank you in advance.
