I won $1,500,000!!!

Got a call today. Guy on the line said that I had won $1,500,000. They would pay all taxes and send me what was left. It was quite a story about how and why I had won this money. All I had to do was send then 1% of the $1,500,000 for processing fees. I told him to send me the money and I would send them 10%. He hung up.Be careful. Call was from a Jamaican area code.

This happened to a old lady here in England. She knew straight away it was a scam but she let them talk awhile to make them think she had fallen for it. When they mentioned an ..ahem..."Administration fee" she said "Oh that's not a problem, you can deduct it from my winnings " "
They hung up....

Hi Richard SE AZ: I got an Email about 2 weeks ago from a friend in which he said he was being held by police some place in Asia. He said he needed $2,000 real quick to get out of the mess he was in... etc etc.. Bunch of "Bull." Fake Email designed to get $$$. I had assumed he wasn't too careful with his security when using his computer but how did they know how to make it sound like him? Slick buggers. I was even a little concerned about deleting that email? I've been ripped off by local people ( and even family members) and now I am reminded to be real careful with this Wonderful World Wide Web. All part of having to deal with human beings, I guess. ag.

I got an eMail a while ago from a relative from Oklahoma that I had never heard of before he showed at my Dad's funeral in Indiana. He was truly from my Mom's side, totally legit.

Anyway, I got an eMail from him one day claiming that he was in England and due to a theft needed to borrow some money so he could get home. I just automatically decided it was a scam using stolen personal data since he had a lot of relatives who actually knew him who he would contact instead of me.

That's nothing, I win the UK lottery every couple of weeks. My email address must be very popular and I must be very trustworthy because folks are constantly wanting me to help them move large sums of money from other countries into my bank account. I tell 'em I'm too busy working on my tractor to bother.

My mom is pretty old.
She knew what was going on when she received the call.
I don't know exactly what she said to play with them,
but she counted 95 (unanswered) calls in one day from them.
She finally picked up and told them off. :)
No more calls from them.
She's a pretty stubborn ol woman, pretty spunky at her age still.

I get e-mail at least once a week from an
executive at the "bank of China", in Hong Kong.
He wants me to accept some "funds" to help
settle an estate of a millionare who passed
away with no heirs ! Of course there's a "finders
Fee" !
