Carb For IH 666

Hi there! Got internet on my cell phone now so I have YT in my pocket!

My 666 has a zenith 13176 carb and its shot. All I can find for a replacement is a marvel-schebler.

Did they make the tractor with both carbs and is the marvel interchangeable with the zenith?

Thank you for any help.

Unless that Zenith is broken into several small parts, there is nothing that cannot be fixed. A new needle valve and seat, possibly a new float, a gasket or two, and maybe even a new bushing for the throttle shaft and that carburetor will be good for another 40 years.

Well...I see what you're saying, but the threads on the
bottom of the bowl for the electric shut-off solenoid are all
stripped out. Also, the solenoid needle valve is all buggered
up. Don't know if I can find a tap to fix the threads and get a
solenoid to fit.

Ditch the solenoid and use a screw jet, nut, and rope seal. Either chase the threads for the nut or JB weld it in as a last resort.

There has to be a way to fix those stripped out threads. A good auto parts store should be able to fix you up with the proper tap to either chase the threads or cut new threads. Did you price the new Marvel-Schebler? I'm thinking they are in excess of $600?
