Tranny lube for JD 730D

Is a GL-5 fine for the tranny in a JD 730D? I hear conflicting reports about "brass" and how today's GL-5 will eat up the brass in the tranny. Others say use GL-5.
Since it is over 9 gallons, I want to make sure I buy the correct stuff.

Do you have other tractors and if so what do you use? I have used it. Ask your dealer or your parts guy- I'm sure they have had reports.

If in doubt use marine GL-4 that says yellow metal safe. All kinds of it out there.

Not sure what is in a tractor tranny but my Nissan PU 5 speed had brass/bronze? synchros and the dang thing would not shift if GL-5 was used. Had to buy GL4 or synthetic. I was told that the sulphur in the EP additive did bad things to the yellow metal.

I only have one Waterloo, all others are Dubuque tractors or crawlers. It is not an issue with Dubuques.
I will look for marine GL-4 that is kind to "yellow" metal.
