Pull type combne

Does anybody use a modern type pull combine like a JD 6601. What are the major drawbacks. Do they out way the expense of maintaining another engine and drive train. Thanks ED

The one major drawback is all the crops you run over starting a field unless you hire someone with a self propelled to open each field.

Amen, particularily troublesome if you are attempting to shell corn. Didn't want to own a self-propelled combine and maintain an additional power unit. Changed my attitude after one crop.
