OT: Chrysler Hemi Powered Air Raid Siren

This is too funny. I ran across this over at YouTube and did it ever give me an idea. Put this thing into the bed of a pickup, drive around the county's dirt roads, and make the front page of the local newspaper afterwards. All in a day's good clean fun.

Of course, the barn has a hay loft with a sliding door. Could open the door, then close the door and deny everything afterwards.

Apparently, they used to make them. Grin.

They made quite a few of them. There's still some in place, abandoned. Most have been junked. And a few live on. He never got that one wound up good in the clip. You could hear that thing for miles.

I went to a car show in Albion Pa. some years ago..Out in the middle of the field a quarter mile away from the show was a Hemi powered siren..Even from that distance, it was near unbearable....It's amazing what powers what... A winery I do repair work for has half a dozen propane 454 Chevy powered air movers [fans] out in the vinyard to keep plants from freezing..
 
Don Garlets has a restored one in his museum in Ocalua Florida. It came from New York and sat a top a building. They gave it to him as long as he got it down .
