John Deere 158 Loader on JD 4430

I had a JD 158 loader on my JD 4430 tractor, i was looking for a decently easy way to take it on and off. While supporting the loader so it stays up while not on the tractor. Figured you older guys might have some tips or tricks. Thanks!

Dad had the same thing years ago it had brackets from deere that came with the loader that held it up when not attached to the tractor .

A mounting stand similar to the one JD built for the 158 would be hard to build. The piece that held the loader up when it the off position was pinned to the loader frame. This stand dropped down and slid on frt axle to the ground as tractor was backed out of loader. The loader was held up so frame would clear axle while backing out by a bar on LH side.

I think I find a nice tree,an "A frame" or a barn truss to support loader while not in use.

We have a smaller tractor/loader and it uses pin on mounting like the 158, your best option is to tie/chain a cross bar to the loader arms and support it from a tree / rafter, leave the bucket on the ground, pull the pins/hoses and back out.

We use this method and the loader stays inside hanging ready to be attached at any time by driving the tractor back into the loader arms and repinning.

The 158 I'm familiar with...now that I think of it, does have the bolts, however someone welded the towers to the mounting brackets thus the pin method was how that particular loader came off....but yes, I can see a "proper" 158 being unbolted, but can still be suspended and backed out from.
