Posted about tandem trailer purchase while back for advice etc. Have decided to take your advice on the gvwr and go to the 9990/10400 as apposed to 7000#. Just gives me way more options and is only $600 more than the "good" 7000#ers. Narrowed it down to Load Trail , Sure-Trac , Extreme and PJ. They all have asking price of $3300. 83" inside fenders , 20' wood bed w/2' beaver-tail , spring assist fold-up ramps (I'm not getting any younger) 5200# axles w/both brakes , toung under perimeter frame back to axles (6" channel) 3" channel crossmembers , leaf springs , 7-10,000 drop jack , 25/16 hitch , 16" 6 bolt wheels2800# =/- radial tires.and all the normal safety and wiring features. Hauled my "B" to Macinac Bridge Crossing few wks ago with 18' version of Load Trail at 65 mph for 200 mi up freeway and wouldn't have known anything was back there. Now for the haggling. Good time of yr for buyer , I believe , going into their "dead' period. I don't "need" one til spring. Anyone know their mark-up on these? My plan is to take $3000 cash and the first one to accept gets the sale. None accept then I'll go back in middle of December after they have plowed snow around them for a while and offer again. Usually they get end of year / 4th quarter bonusses and another $3000 sale might just look pretty good abt then . These have allready been marked down $200 since summer but I think there's plenty of room left. What say you?

Now before you buy, check over the wireing systems, look for scotchlocks and other poor splices. Make sure that the builder primes before they paint, and they get the underside nooks and crannies etc. And make sure you have brand name tires, and that it comes with a spare.
