Just had a phone call from my sis who lives in Minn. They have had heavy rain and ther is bad flooding in Iowa. It does not sound good for harvest.

I am in So. Central Mn. and I show 5 and 1/4" and it is still coming down. Been pumping water out of the basement since 2 am. Leaked through the ceiling in the office which I am sitting in as we speak. Ruined the ceiling panels but other then wet carpet not much else. That's enough now.

It's been raining up in the northern part of lower Michigan, but hasn't made it down here to central Michigan yet. I'm sure Lake Michigan will tear it apart before we get anything substantial anyway.

We have flood warnings over a pretty wide area here in SE MN and SW WI right now. Arcadia, WI has been evacuated and highway 93 is closed.

Rainfall totals are hitting 2007 levels in many places.

Rain is supposed to continue until Friday morning too. And they are predicting that the Mississippi may reach flood stage next week.

I was lucky to be on the south edge of this with only 3.2 inches in the gauge this morning. For the past few years, every big rainfall like this seems to have been centered right on my farm. Looked like my creek was still going to leave the banks this morning anyway. This will be the third time this year and nobody remembers it happening even two times in one year before. I sure hope this doesn't continue into snow season!

I was in Albert Lea this morning. At 9:00am they had 4.5" and still raining. Water everywhere. Roads closed or down to 1 lane around Owatonna. Road near Winona was closed due to mud on the road.

Hi gitrib: At noon KELO TV Sioux Falls SD weather reported 5.3 inches at Pipestone. That is 16 mile from SD line and about 40 mile to Iowa line.. Brookings SD, which is about 65 miles more NorthNorthWest is over all time highest amout rail of any full year total and this is Sept. They showed rain fall AMOUNT map and the heaviest was about Brookings-Marshall and then farther East. 4 and 5 inch in many places and that was noon today.. still raining steady since then and expect slow decrease into Friday AM.. There was too much rain before this started. I Saw lots of standing water on my way up North towards Fargo two weeks ago. Like it has been wanting to rain 2 or 3 days each week for quite a while.. But KELO TV weather said it is starting to see a important shift to dryer weather pattern starting in Next 2 weeks.. ag

Sorry to hear about their flooding and harvest troubles. I wish they would push some on past to us in central PA. Very dry here and has been most all summer.

I live southeast of LaCrosse and I had just over 5 inches so far. The coon creek in Chaseburg was over the road this fornoon. I just heard on the news that Hiway 33 in Ontario was closed due to water over the road.

9.5" and counting just south of Owatonna ,MN. Had to rescue the neighbors cattle from a flooded pasture this morning. So much for an early harvest!

Fortunately the F is on higher ground and there is a tile intake near it to drain the pond in that area, so you can still get to it. :)

Driveway is a little messy with the tile crew digging through it 2 days ago....

we had 5.5 inches 15 miles nw of Pipestone, heard 8" 10 mi. south of me and 10" by Mountain Lake. We were very wet before this and I am positive many acres will be un- harvestable. (Pipestone is 8mi from the SD line)
