MTD Transmatic

I have a 1987 - 632-MTD transmatic and it jumps out of forward . I am using a bungee to hold it in but it jerks every 20 feet but keeps going. Reverse is fine. The guy said - push it to the curb - but everything runs fine.

My neighbor wants to sell me his JD L110 w/ 100 hours for 800. I hate thinking I can't repair my MTD. Itslike family.

Take a look at Surplus Center and see if they have a transaxle for it that will work.

I would have to think there are thousands of those w/ bad motors and such somewhere....just goota find one....

my ranch king is like new at 18 years old - I haev been very happy with it

I would bet that it has a Peerless trans-axle in it. They have these little clips that actually do the shifting. They slide in a shaft and line up on the inside of the gear you want. The gears and the clip"s tabs wear so they jump out of gear. They are not a technical trans mission to work on but the are like a Chinese jig saw puzzle. You make sure and take the halves apart very slowly so you can see where all the gears go. Some parts are not available separately.
