What modern tractor would you love to drive...

I was window shopping looking at new tractors to buy someday when I win the lottery replace our 110HP Ford TW-10 tractor. I found myself drooling over the Fendt line of tractors with their Vario infinitly variable transmissions.

I would LOVE to try any of the Fendt line out in our fields. I would also like to try out a Cat challenger or a John Deere (spit) tracked tractor, but either of those would not be very practical for our farm (overkill)..

What modern tractors would you guys love to try out?

I'd love to have a telehandler. Any of them, but they have some nice ones with powershifts and 3 point hitches over in europe.

Yes, I think I would like to drive one of the big tracked tractors, most likely a JD. My son used one a few years ago that his boss was trying out on his farm. One comment he made was that there definitely was no turning with an implement in the ground, though I know that there is not much of that done anymore with any tillage tool.

Just to drive or to have?

Just to drive I would like to try out one of the Deere tracked tractors. I was never a big snowmobile fan but there might be something to it.

To actually have and use. I would like a Deere 8120-8420 with 380/34s in front and 420/46s in the rear.

None.

Sure would like to have a healthy 1486 tho. :>)

730 diesel Nice response ,,mine is the 800 Case Diesel,So many in my Family that are long gone have gripped the steering wheels of 800s

Maybe an 8870 or 8970... one of the earlier ones that still had Ford in block letters on the side. That's new enough for me. Before all the emissions crap, too.

with pony start twin hyd adj wide front optional air stack duals You must have seen one we use when nancy last was in gosport!!!

Do you allow someone to disagree with you?

As with many other tractors of similar vintage they blast the operator with heat, dirt, etc. I guess if you aren't spending 10-12 hours a day on one 6 days a week they might be okay.

I personally prefer something newer, one that has dual hydraulics, is diesel, has power steering, front wheel assist, greater 3 pt. lifting capacity, and live PTO.

My current tractor is a 1720 Ford and has about the same comfort levels as the N series Fords if you are on them for very long at a time.

I'll probably end up with that new one with no seat or steering wheel. It's for the farmer who's lost his @ss and has nowhere to turn.

Buddy of mine that does custom hay work for me just got a 8130, yeah he is into over kill, uses it for hay only. It has 50's on the back, and while it is a little too much like a video game for me to drive with all the buttons and knobs it sure does ride nice over my rough hay fields with them big tires.

hard to imagine an easier tractor to drive. So versatile. I've got an old tv140 that does everything on my farm. Skidding timber with it right now. Chain logs to loader & lift, turn the seat around & your off.

Case/Farmall 95 with cab and fwd If I could just get my father in law to let me use it.
After all I paid for it :)
