Does anyone know if allis chalmers used a contintal eng. in the d19. or did allis chalmers have a 230 eng. ??

According to my Allis Chalmers book, all D19's used an Allis Chalmers 262 cubic inch engine. Gas and diesel were different versions of the same basic engine.

Goose is right, when AC bought Buda, it was for their line of diesel engines, starting with the 230, later modified to the 262. D19 diesel was a Turbo 262.

its also possible the original 262 blew up and somebody stuck a 230 out of a WD45 in it.

do you know what the horse power was for the 230 and what year they used them ?

The diesel was a 6 cylinder, gas was a 4.
