Propane future prices?

I still use about 700 gallons of propane per year and I have not signed up for the prebuy at any propane supplier. I own my own tank too. What do you guys think Propane may/will go up to in the middle of winter?

$1.69 is about the going price at 3 retailers in my area. This is the prebuy price and the buy now price. My tank is half full now.

What are your opinions? if any.
 
In my never to be humble opinion,it would take quite an event to cause prices to do anything but stay steady. I don't think investors have enough confidence to do anything but stay with "sell only" funds. I just don't see anybody really bidding prices up.
Add to that how early corn harvest is and how dry the crop is,there should be a HECK of a lot less used for drying this year.
 
Using all that logic, you would be right. But I don't see anything logical about the prices of petroleum-based products, so I expect propane prices to JUMP DRAMATICALLY when the first snow flies.
 
Wouldn't argue with you one bit,but I wouldn't bet my own money on it one way or the other. The comodity markets are just TOO volitile,as DaveinMN found out by contracting his corn too soon.
 
Thanks for the comment. I think I will wait till I can get a truck to come to my house. I have to wait for a delivery of 200 gallons capable. Then fill up and then around Christmas time I will have to have another fill up. Then the price will likely be $2 per gallon.
 
1.40 cash price in central Iowa. It's gone down .10 since my supplier sent contract for prebuy. I didn't book any this year. As said below, there will be a surplus with the dry corn this year.
 
The big problem is all the shenanigans in Washington, which will intensify as we get closer to election. No way to really predict, because prices depend on guvment whims as well as supply and demand. I'd get some now, some later- "hedge your bets."
